Grace Schwenck

I am a Clinical Psychology student at Dalhousie University and I am so excited to be a part of the amazing CASH Lab team. I grew up in Toronto, Ontario and completed my Joint Honours degree in Health Studies and Psychology at the University of Waterloo.

My interest in clinical psychology was sparked during a women’s health conference presentation on postpartum depression. This interest developed into the topic of my honours thesis, and led me to St. Michael’s Hospital where our research focused on the health and wellbeing of new parents and their children. These experiences led to my current research on how new parents cope with the challenges inherent to the transition to parenthood and how this relates to their own and their partner’s sexual and relationship satisfaction.

Through this research, I hope to identify coping processes that can improve the wellbeing of couples and their families.

Outside of the lab, my interests include kickboxing and reading psychological thrillers.
